Small classes, big results
Our small classes are very small. With no more than 4 students. Small classes means you’ll receive individual attention and guidance from your teacher, speak more in discussions and debates, and take an active role in your learning.
Descartes famously stated: “I think, therefore I am.” We agree. Thinking is not only foundational to your existence but to everything that you study here. Facts matter. But you delve deeper beneath what you read on the written page.
You’ll be sitting around an oval shaped table to discuss ideas in an open-minded setting. The teacher plays the role of Socrates in asking questions to stimulate critical thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying assumptions.
Study the best that has been thought and said throughout the ages. Emerson’s classical education is not only limited to British and American classics. Our Latin students read the great works of the ancient Romans in the original.
